Holiday House Refúgio das Camélias is located in Sítio da Corujeira de Cima, in a rural area where farming is the main activity.

Surrounded by nature and with a mountain view, this villa has been renovated and offers a tranquil setting for a relaxing break.

It consists of 6 self catering studios with private bathroom, equipped kitchenette, TV, free safe, heating and a balcony where you can enjoy a lovely view.

Holiday House Refúgio das Camélias also offers you a common and full equipped kitchen, open to everybody. Outside you can find an impressing and charming place for barbecue.

Furthermore there are in total 3 lounges with TV. They are located in the basement and upstairs. The lounge in the basement has an open fireplace and relaxing furniture in a very charming ambient to give you the opportunity to relax, enjoy a glass of wine and read a book. Upstairs there is a lounge with an impressing panorama view and comfortable relaxing chairs.

There is also a rustic cellar, where guests are invited to taste the famous Madeira Wine.

This beautiful Vila is just 5 minutes away from the centre of the parish of Faial, 20 minutes from Madeira Airport and 40 minutes from Funchal. Nearby you can find a mini market for the daily needs!

Refúgio das Camélias is great place to start hiking tours, enjoy the fresh air and the wonders of Madeira.

Location

At the airport, head towards Machico / Porto da Cruz / (passing the tunnels) Túnel das Cales / Porto da Cruz / Túnel do Norte / Porto da Cruz Faial - Santana
Túnel da Achada - Faial / Túnel da Cruz - Moinhos - Santana - Ponte do Faial - Lombo Galego/ Refúgio das Camélias.

Follow the road signs until you find Corujeira de Cima and Refúgio das Camélias, go uphill and you will find the Villa on your left.

Arriving by ship: Exit the wharf, comes back to the right and follows the indications for the airport. Passing of the airport it follows in the fast way and it leaves in the exit Porto da Cruz - Faial. In the Faial when finding the square takes 1ª exit to the right, from where it will find signs with the indication Refúgio das Camélias .

Refúgio das Camélias is the best

We would like to take the opportunity to thank you again for the warm and friendly stay at your estate 3 weeks ago. We will remember our stay with happie memories due to the quiet location , tasteful furnishings and beatiful surrondings.The followings places were nice too, but we would rate our stay at the Refúgio das Camélias as the BEST.We will recommend the good experience to our friends and maybe we will be back in the future.

Fabulous house

It has been a pleasure to say in this fabulous Refúgio das Camélias.I have enjoyed the amazing view , the nice weather, and every corner of the fabulous house. Every single detail has been taken into account when building it , people can actually, feel in the heart of Madeira Contryside but with the comfort of the city. The love of Candelária ´s family , tradition and friendship makes this hotel unique!It has a wonderful experience, a Christmas holiday to remember forever.

Reçus comme des rois

L`hospitalité n`est pas un vair mot á Madeira.Surtoût pas au Refúgio das Camélias! Reçus comme des rois , avec dègustation de vin et visite du " ´Refúge".On s´y sent comme á la maison.
