Quinta Mãe dos Homens - Self Catering – Madeira

Quinta Mãe dos Homens Garden Village offers a collection of self catering apartments situated in an exclusive private property, overlooking the centre and the bay of Funchal.

Although it is only a short distance from the centre of Funchal, about 10 or 15 minutes walk from the old part of town, this Aparthotel is like a private sanctuary that is rarely disturbed by the bustle of the city.

Facilities include free Wi-Fi and an amazing outdoor swimming pool surrounded by a terrace with umbrellas and sunbeds. Beside the pool there is an honesty bar designed to keep you refreshed whilst whiling away those sunny days.

The Apartments offer accommodation with a balcony with views over the Atlantic Ocean views, or a terrace with a garden.
All have direct telephone line, a cable television as well as safe boxes. Bathrooms include bath, shower,  WC and hair dryers.

A Picnic Breakfast Pack can be arranged on request and there is a mini-bar in each apartment.

There is a bus stop outside the gates, and there is a little supermarket and various restaurants nearby.

Driving instructions to Quinta Mãe dos Homens from the Airport

00.00 km Departing from the Airport, take the “Via Rápida” (dual carriageway) through several set of tunnels following the sign post pointing Funchal ER101.

13.30 km Start seeing the beautiful view of the bay from Funchal.

14.30 km Leave the Motorway to your right at exit 13 at the indication to Funchal Boa Nova, Palheiro Golf. At the junction turn left, and keep straight on the ER204 road on the direction to Funchal.

14.90 km Pass under a small bridge, following signs to Funchal – Boa Nova, drive straight ahead. Pass a church on your right hand and some meters further the entrance to the “Jardim Botânico” (Botanical Garden) also on your right side, keep straight on the main road.

16.20 km After passing a row of shops on the right, you will see a Pink House, on your right, with a Palm Tree which seems to grow from its roof, follow the road to the right (sharp bend) and just out of the bend take immediate left down, where you will see a  ‘3.5t’ warning sign, into Rua da Rochinha.

16.30 km Keep on this road and turn left on the second entrance to Travessa Manuel Alexandre, a small street, in between two high walls, a school on the left and Quinta Mãe dos Homens on the right. Half way along this road you will see a large green gate on your right, ring the bell on the left side of the gate. You have just arrived at “Quinta Mãe dos Homens”.
