How to get to the Madeira Islands

There are two ways to get to the Madeira Islands, one is by plane (the most common and easy way), and the other is by boat.

Madeira and Porto Santo Islands you will find two magnificent Airports, receiving several regular, charters and low cost flights; from several European cities and from Portugal’s mainland.

Madeira Island is also able to create connections with the main land and also with Spain (Canary Islands)...by sea!

The ferry boat “Volcan de Tijarafe“from the Armed Navy Company, makes weekly connections with Portimão and the Canary Islands.

Between Madeira and Porto Santo Islands there is a boat connection; the Porto Santo Line ferry which takes about 2:30h to connect Funchal to Porto Santo.

Funchal Harbour is a key stopping point to the main cruise circuits coming from the Mediterranean Sea and also those who cross the Atlantic waters. The Archipelago of Madeira distinguishes itself as being an ideal location to relax and find the balance of the mind and body.
