Driving Instructions to the QUINTA DO ALTO DE SÃO JOÃO

Follow the main highway "Via Rápida - VR1" from the airport or from Funchal towards RIBEIRA BRAVA.

At the end of the last tunnel on the highway take the exit to the right, signed to RIBEIRA BRAVA and PONTA DO SOL. Follow the road round and down towards RIBEIRA BRAVA for about 1 km until you reach a roundabout with a tunnel on the first exit (i.e. on the right). Go into the tunnel. At its end you will find another roundabout. Take the second exit, signed to PONTA DO SOL.

Follow this road through two further tunnels separated by a seaside village (Lugar de Baixo).

At the end of the second tunnel there is another roundabout with a fountain in the middle. Turn right to the first exit signed to CANHAS and PAÚL DA SERRA.

Follow this road up for just over 1km until you come to a T-shaped road intersection. Turn left, following the sign to CANHAS- PAÚL DA SERRA. Go along for just over 1,5 km, until you find a right sign to LOMBO DE SÌO JOÌO-LEVADA DO POISO just before a cross-road intersection. Take that exit to the right.

Continue up the hill for just over 1 km until you find a bifurcation with a sign to QUINTA DO ALTO DE SÌO JOÌO pointing to the right. Follow the right fork for about 2,5 km until you reach a turn to the right, just after a café with another sign to the hotel. Go up this road for about 300 m and turn left (on another hotel sign). Finally, drive up for a further 500 m and the hotel is straight ahead.

The Quinta do Alto de São João is composed of:

- 10 tastefully furnished bedrooms with breathtaking views towards the sea and the hills. Each room is individually decorated and includes a fully equipped private bathroom with hairdryer, Cable TV, telephone with direct connection to the exterior and electric heating. The guest will also find comfortable bathrobes and slippers, for optimal comfort. A baby cot is available free of charge for children up to 2 years old. A safe is available (at a fee).

- T1 composed of a bedroom with two beds, living room with sofa bed and fully equipped kitchenette, private bathroom with hairdryer, Cable TV, telephone with direct connection to the exterior and electric heating, and the same other amenities as in every room.

Moreover, the Quinta features a wide living room, a meal lounge, external swimming pool, solarium, sauna, gardens, agro-biological orchards, and parking space.

At close proximity to the Quinta, the guest can find a mini-market (30 m away) and a bus stop (500 m), while at about 4 km one can find a pharmacy, a taxi stand, a health care centre, a shopping centre, a post office, banks with ATM, and restaurants. The airport is located at around 40 km.

The stay at the hotel comes with breakfast included.
