This is a life sized bronze statue in the Casino Park Resort Hotel gardens. It celebrates the visit of the Empress of Austria to Madeira Island and helps to keep her alive in the people’s memory.

This statue constitutes one of many historical landmarks that enrich the cultural environment in Madeira.

The Empress Elizabeth Amalie Eugenie, well-know as Sissi, was universilly admired by her beauty and charms. She first visited Madeira Island in 1860.
