Madeira Island is well-known not only for is beauty and natural enchantment, but also for its extraordinary gastronomy. There are several restaurants in Madeira and Porto Santo Islands. People, either locals or visitors can find the typical Madeiran food in almost every restaurant across the island. The most famous dishes are the “espetada” hung in the laurel stick accompanied with "Milho Frito" (deep-fried cubes of cornmeal), the famous “Bolo do Caco” (typical bread made with wheat flour, the "carne de vinho e alhos" (Pork spiced with wine and garlic), the Tuna fish Steak, the Scabbard Fish, the Codfish, the "cavala com molho de vilão"(grilled mackerel with a typical sauce which is made of onion, vinegar and some spices)and grilled limpets. After your meal, take a walk in the city and enjoy the beauties of the islands.
