From the city centre to the mountain
 
The civil parish of Santo António is located on the north-eastern part of the city centre, on the way to the mountain.
 
Santo António has about 22 thousand inhabitants, and an area of 2,221 hectares (5,488 acres).
It is a very large civil parish, characterised by great differences in altitude, ranging from sea level to high up on the mountain. As such, it is has different types of climate and magnificent views over the city of Funchal.
