Casa Rosário Coelho, built in 1837 and restored in 1993/95, still preserves its original character.

You are welcome to visit the museum area, offering an exhibition of different ancient artefacts and some farm implements, part of the way of life of this population, and, as such, of the history of Porto Santo.

Wide and beautiful surrounding gardens, with countless retreats and a threshing-floor (fundamental in the life of a farmer), offer you extraordinary peacefulness and quietness. The grill restaurant complete this “paradise” located in Serra de Fora, on the south-eastern side of the island of Porto Santo, in an estate with 150 ha.

You can climb all the way to Pico dos Maçaricos, which belongs to Casa Rosário Coelho, and from there you can enjoy a breathtaking landscape that you will never forget – you will have the whole of Porto Santo at your feet.

If you prefer, you can also go for a walk along the main road, for about 800 metres, to “Porto dos Frades” where you will find 5 small beaches of crystal-clear waters that will invite you to pleasant bathing and fishing
