Casa da Capelinha

Hotel Casa da Capelinha is situated in a rural environment on the northern coast of Madeira Island, about 50 minutes drive from the airport. It benefits from its proximity to the sea and from the magificent views of the mountain, and it is located in the lowest part of Ponta Delgada, near the church and the public swimming pool. The hotel receives its name from the Chapel of Reis Magos, built in the 16th century, which can be found on the property.

The Chapel of Reis Magos, as it is called, can be visited for its historical value as well as for the magnificent, completely restored paintings with gilded wood frames.

This family-friendly establishment has 2 houses where 12 apartments are located. Choose from one Studio and eleven one bedroom apartments.

The manor house was restored according to its original design, and the other house, which has been built more recently, follows the same tradition.

The complex has a small on-site restaurant which caters for evening meals by prior arrangement.

A good selection of drinks are available and in the summer season the management arranges special barbecue evenings around the original wine press which dates back to the 19^th century.

The building is well equipped with modern comforts, from which we would like to point out the thermal and acoustic insulation.

This is an excellent location for touring the north coast of Madeira and for exploring many of the spectacular walks. The village is quiet and tranquil and is best explored on foot via the many ancient pathways that wind through the little vineyards.
