Casa D’Avó Beatriz is located in the south coast of Madeira Island, in a small parish called Gaula, half-way between the ocean and the mountains, in a sunny hillside, full of ancient locations ready to be discovered, in a hillside forgotten through time. Nevertheless, it reminds us at the same time that time keeps moving like a clock that goes round and round.

A place where is still possible to hear the rooster sing and the church bell ring.
 

Casa D´Avó Beatriz has got an history with more than one hundred years old. It goes back to the time when the land and the cottage were bought until the present day. In addition to the original main cottage and wine-cellar, which were restored and enhanced, there are also a new cottage, a swimming-pool and a vegetable and fruit garden. It is the perfect destination for those who seek peace and quiet and for those who want to be in touch with nature and with the local agriculture.

The cottage is also perfectly located. Therefore, each one of our guests has an easy and quick access to the nearest beach, to the mountains and to the traditional “Levadas”, mini-water canals which are a landmark of the Maderian landscape.
 

Beatriz de Nóbrega was born on 18th September, 1909, in the parish of Gaula. This is her home where she lived all her life and where she raised all her 7 children.
