Driving instructions to Quinta Mãe dos Homens from the Airport

 

00.00 km Departing from the Airport, take the “Via Rápida” (dual carriageway) through several set of tunnels following the sign post pointing Funchal ER101.

 

13.30 km Start seeing the beautiful view of the bay from Funchal.

 

14.30 km Leave the Motorway to your right at exit 13 at the indication to Funchal Boa Nova, Palheiro Golf. At the junction turn left, and keep straight on the ER204 road on the direction to Funchal.

 

14.90 km Pass under a small bridge, following signs to Funchal – Boa Nova, drive straight ahead. Pass a church on your right hand and some meters further the entrance to the “Jardim Botânico” (Botanical Garden) also on your right side, keep straight on the main road.

 

16.20 km After passing a row of shops on the right, you will see a Pink House, on your right, with a Palm Tree which seems to grow from its roof, follow the road to the right (sharp bend) and just out of the bend take immediate left down, where you will see a  ‘3.5t’ warning sign, into Rua da Rochinha.

 

16.30 km Keep on this road and turn left on the second entrance to Travessa Manuel Alexandre, a small street, in between two high walls, a school on the left and Quinta Mãe dos Homens on the right. Half way along this road you will see a large green gate on your right, ring the bell on the left side of the gate. You have just arrived at “Quinta Mãe dos Homens”.
